What is SFO?

SFO (Skolefritidsordning) is a structured before- and after-school care program designed primarily for students in grades 1 through 4, with additional tailored support available for students with individual learning needs in grades 5 to 7. This program is operated by Sandnes International School and is guided by both national and municipal regulations to ensure high standards of care and education.

At the heart of our SFO program is a commitment to empowering children by giving them a voice, fostering autonomy, and encouraging them to make choices that reflect their individual interests and developmental stages. Our diverse and engaging activities are thoughtfully designed to nurture creativity, curiosity, and a sense of ownership over their leisure time.

We prioritize building strong, positive relationships and aim to cultivate social skills through play-based learning and meaningful interactions. Ensuring the safety and well-being of every child is our foremost concern, and our program is staffed by qualified adults who provide attentive supervision within a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Overall, SFO offers a supportive and enriching space where children can grow, explore, and enjoy their time before and after school as part of a creative and holistic educational experience.
