Job Vacancies - Employment Opportunities

Sandnes International School is seeking passionate and qualified professionals to join our team. We are an IB World School dedicated to educating knowledgeable, inquiring, and caring young people. 

We have 3 teaching positions, 1 support position, and 1 Administrative position. See below for further details. 

Important Requirements:

  • Language of Instruction: Apart from Spanish and Norwegian language classes, English is the primary language of instruction at our school.
  • Police Clearance: A valid police clearance is mandatory for all positions. No job offer will be made without the successful submission of this documentation.

Teaching Positions

  • IB MYP Music Teacher (Part-time)
  • IB MYP Spanish Language Teacher (Part-time)
  • Learning Support Teacher (Part-time)

Key Responsibilities for Teachers:

  • Design and deliver high-quality, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB framework
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment where diversity is embraced
  • Assess and track student progress to optimize individual learning capabilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues and coordinators to enhance the curriculum
  • Communicate regularly with parents to build strong home-school partnerships

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification; NOKUT approval is preferred
  • Experience with IB MYP/PYP or other inquiry-based curricula
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Support Position

  • Learning Assistant (Part-time)

Key Responsibilities for Learning Assistants:

  • Support teachers in the delivery of lessons and activities across various subjects and student abilities.
  • Assist with classroom management, student engagement, and the organization of learning materials.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, meals, and other school activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and learning support staff to follow up on student learning plans.
  • Document observations, student progress, and incidents as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant training or experience in child education or support roles.
  • Familiarity with inclusive and supportive learning practices.
  • Good English communication skills; Norwegian proficiency is an advantage.

Administrative Position

  • Office Administrator (Full-time)

Key Responsibilities for Office Administrator:

  • Serve as the initial contact for the school, supporting prospective families through the admissions process
  • Manage school-wide communication, documentation routines, and student records
  • Coordinate logistical support, including substitute cover and external service rentals
  • Liaise with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies while ensuring GDPR compliance
  • Promote the school via digital platforms and contribute to the upkeep of the school website

Qualifications:

  • Relevant higher education and experience in administration or office management
  • Proficiency in English; Norwegian proficiency is an advantage
  • Solid ICT competence and familiarity with Norwegian school administration and safeguarding
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle confidential information professionally

Start Date

  • Office Administrator: Position available from May 2026, or by agreement, to facilitate school-year preparations
  • Teaching and Support Position: Positions commence August 1st, 2026, for the start of the new academic year.
